As the daughter of a German immigrant, my love for the German Shepherd began as a child. I was fortunate enough to experience my first Schutzhund trial at a young age in Germany while visiting family; and was immediately captivated by the intelligence and obedience of the breed.
Both myself and my husband's careers were in public safety. (Fire/Police) Now that we are both retired professionally, we continue to pursue our other ambitions full time, side by side, which we find incredibly rewarding.
We live and raise our dogs on 5 acres in a rural farming community; surrounded by avocado and citrus groves in Southern California. It is beautiful place to call home and allows us a lifestyle with our German Shepherds that we find genuinely fulfilling.
Our German Shepherds are members of our family and are raised in our home. Our puppies are whelped onsite (a select 2/3 litters a year) and hand raised by us from birth until the day they are ready to transition into their forever homes.
Preserving and protecting the breed standard and health of the German Shepherd Dog is of great importance to us. We actively perform genetic/DNA testing on our breeding dogs to ensure the optimal health of pack and their future puppies. Testing includes, Degenerative Myelopathy (D.M.) a debilitating disease that many large breed dogs carry recessively. (Ours do not)
Our dog's genetic profiles are evaluated for specific traits ie. long coat gene, recessive coloring. Additionally, all of our breeding dogs have xray screening/evaluation of hips and elbows performed before they are bred and are then rated either by the OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) or the SV (Verein fur Deutsche Schaferhunde proving that no evidence of hip/elbow dysplasia or other deformities are present.
